Julius Moessel (1871-1957) Allegory Painting  titled Orpheus signed and date lower left  1935  1955. size 43" wide by 48"tall ,oil on canvas framed. signed on reverse also with Chicago address.  Moessel was a major artist in Chicago from the 20's thur the 50's. German imigrant as a young man. Many public comissions.   Chicago Field Museum.
