Pair of associated "Tassie stone" Earrings set in a simple 14kt Yellow Gold Bezel with closed & Foiled Back & a Post. One stone of a faun playing a flute & the other - a Nubian head facing left.
These intaglios, in effect were produced by James Tassie, who developed his unknown technique of reproducing gemstones in glass. His secret technique was carried on by his nephew, upon his death, in 1835. Most of his "stones" were mounted at a later date.
